Central Virginia is as dry as a sisterhood of nuns these days and every morning we get to watch NBC’s Andrew Freiden tell us that rain chances are slim for the next few days. Then you look at the national radar and notice a huge green mass churning off the coast of Florida.
Tropical Storm Fay is dousing the peninsula of trailer parks with record rains – in some places up to 30 inches! And like most women, the tropical system can’t make up its mind where it wants to go.
Gulf Coast or East Coast.
Granted, while one tropical system probably isn’t going to lift the mandatory water restrictions that officially go into place tomorrow for RIC, Henrico, Hanover and Goochland (Even addresses may water today. Please use a bucket), it would be nice to have a little precipitation in our parched region.
I’m talking Seattle-like rains - all day and all night. Late afternoon thunder boomers just ruin evening plans and are of little help.
Memo to Fay: Get in (low) gear and move North! We need remnant moisture.

Ricola!
I've been treating this place like a red headed stepchild in recent weeks. So I deeply apologize to my 17 (eh, might be a bit high) loyal readers. Please know that the Hype will return soon. The summer work slam is in full-effect.
Until tomorrow (or the next day) goodnight, goodnight.
